SMALL-SIDED GAME 2
- Level:
- Intermediate
- Duration:
- 10 min
- Recommended age:
- ["senior"]
Description
Objectives: - Technical objective: passing and control. - Tactical objective: escaping opponent pressure and creating superiorities in the active zone. Progression rule: - The team out of possession cannot leave their established zone. Observations: - 6 vs 6 possession game in 3 zones: build-up, creation, and finishing, starting with a 2 vs 2 in each zone (defenders vs forwards, midfielders vs midfielders, forwards vs defenders). - Ball in build-up zone: A CM from the team in possession breaks the numerical equality by entering the build-up zone, creating a 3 vs 2 numerical advantage (finding the free man in the build-up). - Ball in creation zone: The two forwards of the team in possession make support runs to create a 4 vs 2 in the creation zone. - Ball in finishing zone: Surprise overlapping runs from defenders + 2 forwards creating a 4 vs 2. TASK CONSIDERATIONS: The structure encourages behaviors for elaborate attacking situations, forcing players to exit the pressure zone with quick decision-making. Regarding organization: after losing the ball, reorganize; retreat to starting zones, after recovery, safety pass and restart the attack from the beginning. There is directionality (each team attacks in one direction). Use the field lines.
