Set Pieces 3 Stations (Anticipation and Tackling)
- Level:
- Intermediate
- Duration:
- 20 min
Description
The drill consists of three stations where the two players starting from the cone (J1 and J2) attempt to anticipate to win the ball, fulfill the objective of that station, and then head to the next station. 1) Sprinting from the starting cone, both players head to the 1st station where they try to anticipate the ball sent from a throw-in by the third player (J3). The player who wins the anticipation holds the ball with their back to the rival for 6 seconds, and then both players sprint to the next station. 2) At the 2nd station, players J1 and J2 try to anticipate the corner kick taken by J3; the winner tries to cross to the players inside the six-yard box, and the other player tries to block the cross. Once the play ends at this station, the players head to the third station. 3) At this station, player 3 executes another corner kick with a short pass and players J1 and J2 try to anticipate the pass. The winner of the ball must try to score in the small goal placed at the end of the circuit (this time without marking). In the final stretch, the 3 players jog towards the center of the pitch to recover. The drill is repeated with a new group of 3 players.
