Description
Drill focusing on flank play as a prerequisite for finishing without defensive pressure. Variation 1 (Through ball) Player A passes wide to player B, who quickly (one-touch) plays a through ball back to A (byline). Player A runs onto the ball and crosses from the byline to player B, who attempts to finish the cross as directly as possible. Variation 2 (Overlapping run) Player A passes wide to player B. B dribbles inside while A makes an overlapping run. B passes to A, who reaches the byline and crosses to B. B must attempt to finish on goal as directly as possible. Variation 3 (Switching play) Player A passes wide to player B, who quickly plays a low pass to player C. C dribbles to the byline and crosses to players A and B. A must position himself at the far post and B at the near post.
