INTERCEPTION, TACKLING AND ANTICIPATION
- Level:
- Exercise level
- Duration:
- 20 min
- Recommended age:
- ["cadete","senior"]
Description
1. The team in the upper quadrant starts possession with the goal of completing 4 passes (minimum) without the opposing player winning the ball. 2. If the goal is reached, they attempt to pass the ball to the team in the lower quadrant through the pole gates without being intercepted by any player from the opposing team. The player positioned in the central quadrant must intercept the pass to the lower quadrant; if they fail, they must reorient themselves toward the direction of play to intercept the next time. 3. The player winning the ball in the lower quadrant must anticipate the position and pass of the players in the upper quadrant. NOTE: If the player anticipates the play well and wins the ball, the team that must defend is the one that executed the pass. NOTE*: The player winning the ball must start from the middle of the quadrant. 4. Return to possession looking for 4 consecutive passes to move the ball to the other side. IMPORTANT: If a team loses the ball, they must spread out into the different quadrants to perform the ball recovery action. Only winning the ball via a tackle, interception, or pass anticipation is valid.
