Build-up play through a back four with passing gates

Description

The team building the play attempts to pass to one of the two forwards through the 3 passing gates. If successful, the passer should move into the attacking zone for a 3v2 situation. The defending team attempts to disrupt the build-up. If possession is won quickly and effectively, initiate a counter-attack. The drill always starts with the goalkeeper or the building team's back four.
