Part 2 Form 1 - Back four movements with 8 players
- Level:
- Intermediate
- Duration:
- 20 min
- Recommended age:
- ["infantil","cadete","juvenil"]
Description
Player E starts with a pass to player A. A runs towards the ball, stops it halfway between their starting position and E's, and stays put. The remaining defensive players must close the space left by the player on the ball, as seen in other 4-4-2 drills (see animation and red dashed arrows). Players B, C, and D cover the position left by A by shifting 2-3 meters towards A's side to cover the depth. Once the gap is covered, player A passes the ball back to E and returns to the back four formation. Player E passes to F. F passes to B, who performs the same action as player A previously. Then the same movement begins: Players A and C drop back 2-3 meters inward to cover B's position, and D also tucks in slightly towards the right interior. After 11 passes, the exercise direction is reversed: The players who were performing the defensive formation now become the passers, and those who were passing now must cover the spaces left by their teammates.
