Build-up Play from the Holding Midfielder through Strikers and Flanks
- Level:
- Easy
- Duration:
- 25 min
- Recommended age:
- ["cadete","senior"]
Description
The defensive midfielder (No. 6) passes to the striker dropping deep, who moves forward to draw out the defender. The striker immediately lays the ball back to the No. 6. From the No. 6, the pass goes to the winger. The winger must take the ball into the penalty area with their second touch. The strikers turn, make runs into the penalty area, and attempt to finish. Variation 1: Alternate between left and right. One striker and one defender. Variation 2: The No. 6's passes alternate again between left and right. This time both strikers and both defenders participate. Variation 3: The No. 6 with the ball can also advance towards the penalty area. However, a midfielder starts from the opposite post and immediately switches to man-marking. Variation 4: Same as Variation 3, but the far-side midfielder and the fullback also join in.
